Requirement

IT as an asset, not an expensive headache

A helping hand with IT

Founded in 1987, Clark Smith Partnership was initially based in London’s Docklands before moving to offices in Aldgate.

BLUE Profile has worked with the company for more than two decades, providing ad-hoc project support, and was therefore the natural choice when it came to a total redesign of the firm’s tech provision.

The installation of a new server infrastructure with sufficient storage allows files to be shared safely in real-time for easy collaboration and more productive working. In-house technicians have access to BLUE Profile’s helpdesk for additional support and resolution of escalated problems if necessary. Meanwhile, updates and backups are handled remotely, with the added protection of high level firewalls and anti-virus software.

Tony continues: “BLUE Profile are always at the end of the phone including out of hours. In one instance a server went down after we installed a new firewall. Wayne and the team shipped a spare firewall the next morning, during the weekend, and ensured the setup was completed so we were ready to open our doors for business the next working week.”

Tech for long-term scalability and improved communications  

Frustrating file sharing and time-consuming manual backup is eliminated with a system that is fit-for-purpose. Cloud computing and the installation of Office 365 complements business operations perfectly, with staff now able to work remotely and securely share information on-site with clients.

Tony continues: “We are now achieving ways of working that we didn’t know was possible before. It means that we can communicate with clients more effectively, and our staff are able to work remotely and flexibly.

“We don’t have lots of unnecessary equipment and waste – just a more streamlined and efficient system that works for everybody and fits with the needs of our business now and in the future.
